Just to answer your question. If you are running an unsupported operating system/configuration then Support are unable to address the issue. It would also be impossible to get a fix from development as they would not test under those operating systems and couldn't guarantee that any fix implemented didn't break other functionality.
The best suggestion is to try and reproduce the issue on a supported operating system.
